"Ando há já algum tempo a pensar em comprar um Cherokee de 99/00. Tenho ouvido de td um pouco sobre o motor VM, mas curiosamente todos os meodelos que vejo à venda têm aproximadamente 120.000 kms. Como não acredito em coincidência gostaria de saber se me poderia dar info sobre este motor ou jipe e sobre o plano de revisões.Grato".

Caro amigo,

Eu tive um Cherokee (não confundir com o Grand C.) 2.5 TD de 99. Nas minhas mãos foi até aos 65.000 Km, incluindo monte e preparações. O motor apenas aqueceu uma vez, no deserto marroquino e eu estava com o AC ligado. Além disso, tinha um kit de potência que aumentava a força em baixas 8quando mal usado e doseado, parte o motor!). Fui um feliz proprietário. As revisões eram feitas, na marca, de 10 em 10 mil quilómetros.

Contudo, ouvi muitos relatos bem diferentes. Muitos Jeeps e LRovers com problemas sérios fruto deste motor 2.5 da VM. Muitos mesmo. Por isso, cautela. Muita cautela a comprar jipes com este motor.

Novo Jeep Cherokee

Já está a caminho o novo Jeep Cherokee.

A Jeep decidiu fazer uma revolução neste seu modelo. Um novo desenho e uma gama de motores mais adaptada ao mercado europeu - no caso português, a adopção do motor 2.0 CRD de 140 cv e origem VW pode ser um trunfo. As qualidades Todo Terreno melhoram em relação à actual geração (melhores ângulos e modelo Rubicon com bloqueio de diferenciais). O novo Cherokee pode ser equipado com um tecto de abrir de lona a todo o correr do tejadilho. Lançamento no último trimestre de 2007 e preços previstos de €33.000 para a versão base do 2.0 CRD.

O Euro Camp Jeep 2007, como sabem, realiza-se este ano no sul de França.
Para já aqui ficam alguns dados da organização:

Mais de 750 Jeeps de toda a Europa Mais de 1900 Jeepeiros

Que se vão concentrar em La Rouret, um gigantesco Parque Natural, onde existe o "The Resort of Le Rouret" com mais de 80 hectares, 270 casas e 225 apartamentos e, segundo dados da organização:

" mini-golf, fitness trail, mountain biking trails, multi-sports pitches, small farm, outdoor theatre with circus school , rollerblading area, 6 tennis courts, 10 lane bowling alley, go-kart circuit, archery etc.…

– 1 night club, 4 bars, 2 restaurants, 1supermarket.

–8 meeting rooms (1 plenary room used as a cinema during summer)"

JEEP ESTABELECE NOVO RECORDE

Dois Wrangler Unlimited "escalaram" 6,646m atingindo a altitude mais elevada já alcançada por veículos 4x4.

Setenta anos depois do primeiro homem ter escalado o vulcão mais alto do Mundo, Ojos del Salado, no Chile, dois Jeep Wrangler Unlimited estabeleceram um novo recorde do mundo ao subir 6,646 metros até à extremidade do vulcão.

Os Jeep atingiram a mais elevada altitude alcançada por veícuklos 4x4, o que lhe valeu um lugar no Livro de Recordes do Guiness.
O recorde foi conquistado no passado mês de Março. Durante 5 dias, os dois Wrangler transportaram uma equipa Extrem Events (Alemanha), liderada por Mattias Jeschke. A viagem teve "direito" a ventos fortes, temperaturas que rondavam os 30º graus negativos, areia vulcânica, penhascos, glaciares e ar fino devido à elevada altitude.

Os Jeep Wrangler contavam com equipamento de série Rubicon, ao qual foi adicionado pneus MT/R da Goodyear, tecnologia de medição e um gancho. Debaixo do capot escondiam blocos 3.8 V6.

Jeep a GPL - Fotos da transformação 2

Por fim, com as desculpas devidas pelo atraso, aqui ficam as fotos finais da montagem do GPL no meu Jeep e as respectivas conclusões dos primeiros 2000 km.

Primeiras Impressões:

Nestes primeiros 2000 Km noto uma enorme melhoria nos custos de manutenção do Jeep ou seja, antes gastava cerca de 80€ por semana para o manter, agora gastou cerca de 35€. A continuar assim, em 10 meses está paga a instalação!

Quanto à "performance", num Jeep destes, com 220 cv e caixa automática, sinceramente, não noto nada. Os consumos a cada 100km aumentaram de 17 litros aos 100 para 20 a 21.

Outros dados:

O depósito, colocado no lugar do pneu suplente, é de 95 litros permitindo uma autonomia a gás de cerca de 300 km (o que é pouco, logo, recomendo a instalação de um segundo depósito para ampliar a autonomia em grandes viagens - assim farei).

Foi instalado um kit (já incluído no sistema da Prins) de lubrificação das válvulas (primeira foto, tampa verde).

Tenho metido GPL nas bombas da Galp na A4 (nada a reclamar), na ESSO da circunvalação (perto do Norte shopping - excelente preço por litro) e uma vez, sem exemplo, na BP junto à VCI (preço mais caro por litro). Também o faço, de vez em quando, nas instalações da Mastergás (excelente preço e rapidez).

Para já estou bastante satisfeito e recomendo.

O novo Wrangler, com lançamento previsto na Europa para este mês, está atrasado no que toca a Portugal. De qualquer forma, fontes bem colocadas, afirmam que vamos ter uma série especial comercial (Pick up) para Portugal com desconto de 30% no IA, permitindo assim um PVP final abaixo da barreira dos 30.000€ e, no caso das empresas, permitindo descontar o IVA.
